About Myself
Xenon Darrow specializes in developing cutting edge digital technology for learning. Xenon has over 35 years of design and development experience from working with major oil and chemical companies, universities, healthcare, and the hospitality industry as a consultant and instructional designer. Her expertise includes working with Universities and Colleges as a consultant and professor for more than 15 years, and her work has extended to the hospitality industry for the last 22 years.
To stay on the forefront of digital learning, Xenon continues to develop credentials in her field. She is A.B.D. with a doctorate in Education, with areas of specialization in Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Educational Research, and Instructional Systems Design. She has multiple digital learning and learning platform certifications from leading institutions and organizations.
Xenon entered virtual world learning development in 2006. She has had active presences in Second Life, SpotOn3D, SimValley, Alternate Metaverse, and is now cultivating learning and game development on the OpenSim Hypergrid in Wolf Territories.
She is currently designing her signature instructional design course (DDLE – Designing Dynamic Learning Events) for virtual and Virtual World application! She is the Wolf Territories ambassador for Virtual World Education Consortium (VWEC - https://www.vweconsortium.org/about-vwec/) and is the manager of WolfTEC - Wolf Territories Educational community. She works with an amazing team of builders and creators designing inspiring learning spaces for virtual world immersion and facilitation. Scifi, fantasy, action - most things that have explosions in the first 10 min, as long as they aren't complete trash.
Oh...wait, I do love me some complete trash - extremely low budget indies, I mean LOW BUDGET! Sharks of the Corn, House Shark, Cat III cinema (new to me and utterly horrible fun), love old classic Hammer films, Roger Corman, and the like. There are very few documentaries I like...I watch movies for fun and escapism. I prefer movies in English, but if it is super awesome, subtitles will work. There are a very few chick flicks I enjoy - a fewof my faves: Under the Tuscan Sun, Pride and Prejudice (Knightly and Macfayden), Austenland. OH...did I mention spaghetti Westerns, some classic Westerns, and some modern Westerns (if they are done in that classic style).

Books I Like
Again, it's ridiculous. First of all, FICTION!!!! I watch media, go to theater, and read to ESCAPE! I cut my teeth on Bradbury, Asimov, Tolkien, Lewis, and Keene (Nancy Drew, yup, I admit it!) One of my favorite series of all times is The Julian May's Saga of Pliocene Exile (kind of the cross between scifi and fantasy). So, scifi, fantasy, thrillers, some horror (King, Barker, and similar). My very favorite Barker book of all-time is Imajica, and my very favorite hardcore scifi series of all time are Asimov's Foundation Series, Daneel Olivaw Robot Series, and the intersection of those series; and Mary Doria Russell's two-book series starting with The Sparrow. I am not a big romance fan, but I have enjoyed some where it crosses over with scifi and fantasy. I listen to books now - not a big reader anymore. This way, I can listen while I work.

Activity
The hypergrid never ceases to amaze me. I went shopping over at Nutella tonight on a shopping avie. My main avie has over 120k items in my inventory, so I use other avies to shop. It has become more and more common that when I jump to other grids, all my mesh gets ripped off. I am then a lumpy nekkid system avie with a hairy face. It's not fun for anyone, trust me. To avoid this, I will strip down to a system avie, then use a full body alpha and be invisible. This prevents the embarrassment, potential maturity rating violations, excessive shopping lag, and having to tp home, log, clear cache, log back in, sometimes 2x to get things to act right again. It's efficient and effective.
I haven't filled out the profile of this shopping avie because....well...it's a SHOPPING AVIE. I guess I could put "I'm just here to shop" on the profile. But honestly...she is 1/10k avies running around without anything in their profile.
Apparently, a resident there took exception with me and sent me some rather rude messages. I didn't see them because I was engrossed in shopping and had the chat window closed. I saw them when I returned to my home grid. I then reached out to her and explained 1) why I was invisible, and 2) why there was nothing in my profile. She promptly told me she was reporting me to the grid owner for "not acting right."
I popped back over there and spoke to her in genchat, once again explaining myself. I told her to be well and left. I am interested to see if that avie or even this one gets banned because a resident didn't like that I was invisible and shopping. It's always an adventure.

Last night, I was consumed by a dark dream. I found myself in a dreamscape of a desert plateau, unsure how I arrived.
I was confronted by swirling fog and spirits, as well as a dark figure with a glowing orb. Initially, I was filled with trepidation and the beginnings of true fear; but in the back of my extradimensional consciousness, I sensed that the figure offered not fear. Instead, it was an invitation to a dark and fantastic journey, should I have the courage to embark on it.
I gazed about me and saw a pale horse with a rider. I saw three other horseman, poised above me. Were these the four horsemen I read about in other spiritual guides, harbingers of a coming Apocalypse?
My deeper instincts told me "no" - these horsemen were pleasure, pain, ecstasy. The pale horse was la petit mort, a small death to be sure, but one from which I would resurrect.
This is not the Apocalypse we know of, but one of social norms and constructs and other inhibitions.
Shall I resist this journey?

We will be hosting a variety of events at a variety of locations designed for educational experiences! We are looking for the following:
- Poster Sessions (templates and assistance provided)
- Speakers (30-45 min) (Assistance with presentation slides and posters provided)
- Interactive workshops (1 - 1.5 hrs) Curriculum and media support, coaching provided, assistance with facilitation provided upon request.
Come share your educational projects and efforts throughout OpenSim!

While still a work in progress, Kimm will share valuable insights, tips, free and paid for resources for creating immersive, historical builds that can enrich virtual education.
This tour is more than a history lesson—it’s about making history come alive! Using Google Earth for precise mapping, Kimm has recreated iconic Coney Island landmarks at scale to offer a true 3D journey into the past.

This year will mark the first year of the WolfTEC Educational Conference in Wolf Territories, coming Dec 14-15. We will be hosting a variety of events at a variety of locations designed for educational experiences! We are looking for the following:
- Poster Sessions (templates and assistance provided)
- Speakers (45 min - 1 hr) (Assistance with presentation slides and posters provided)
- Seminars, Webinars, and Workshops (Curriculum support and coaching provided)

Wolf MountainLove me some WT! Wolf Mountain is gorgeous, but the entire grid is exceptional! The tech and tech development is incomparable! Nowhere else can you get a real 1.2 M prim usage on your region AND IT IS REAL! Super great community! I cannot say enough good things!

EUROPAAll of the Europa regions are true works of art. Jimmy has once again surpassed all the standards for a stunning and interactive space and experience! There is so much to do and see! And the MAGA BAGA trains are crossing sims again!! Thx Jimmy!
WizardryCyberglo has done so many generous things for the HG. He provides this wonderful place with tons of very cool freebies. I wanted to jump on and share that I was privileged to take a scripting class from him. Tonight, because of that class, I was able to locate, edit, and use a simple script! You RULE, Cyber!!!
LIGHT and SOUND MUSEUMAnother ridiculously amazing place and series of products provided by the illustrious, generous, and megatalented Jimmy Olsen! I have used many of these things for interesting and odd projects! I plan on utilizing this far more in the near future for rl projects for a university of architecture and landscape architecture to demonstrate proof of concept. Thank you, Jimmy, for all you do!
