Happy New Year to all Opensim grid owners and users alike. I just want to add my thoughts as a few others have on the past year. We have all seen growth or maybe a decline in our grids and even so far as to have our grids banned by other grid owners. Isn't it bad enough real life has tossed us a pandemic to deal with. Losing Family & Friends we have cherished for years to a sickness we can't get control of. We all come online to escape real life even if just for a few hours, to forget our troubles and just have that bit of time to relax, have fun ... and maybe meet a new friend or two.

I recently had one of my users come to me and say why am I banned from such and such grid? My answer of course is "I have no idea no one has contacted me about any issues." I can tell you this ....if I have an issue with a user visiting my grid I am going to ban the offending user/users not the grid they came from. Banning the whole grid for the unfortunate actions of 1 or 2 users in my opinion is childish and very unfair to all the good users from that grid that have the same lets have fun and meet new people and share what each of us have to offer mind set. After all isn't Opensim supposed to be about offering a place to enjoy the free time you wish to spend online when you access a grid?

I and my partner have and will always try to offer a peaceful and enjoyable experience for users of our grid. If you have had an issue with one of our users please don't ban the grid ban the offending user/users and please feel free to contact me regarding any user from the grid. I am one of those No Tolerance for crap people that will not stand for a user tarnishing our grid by doing something they shouldn't. They want to do that crap it's time for them to move on find someplace else where it's acceptable or get their own grid. We have already banned and deleted one user for unacceptable activity and I am not afraid to do it again if needed.

I like to think and I'm sure I have shown to many visitors I am a very reasonable person to deal with. And I try to act on issues ASAP so the grid is enjoyable for users and visitors alike. See something you don't agree with message me and lets talk. Have a user issue message me and let me know so we can get any issues resolved quickly so we can get back to enjoying our grids and members.


Lets make 2022 a year of change for each of us in Opensim. Lets enjoy our online time helping each other, providing fun places and content for members and visitors to our grids, and working together to resolve any issues that arise in an adult manner.

All my best wishes to all for the New Year. I hope that mentalities will change on Opensimulator, because we have to help each other rather than go to war, many forget that. I only understand that on opensimulator, network or sim owners can ban an entire grid without first Trying to contact the administrators, of course a resident can mess things up, but then why punish the whole network? Even in rl we do not see this, the mentality on Opensimulator has really changed a lot in recent years !!

New Release: Arcadia's Timer.

I made this based on a suggestion (thanks Ernest!).

It's a simple timer that will do what any kitchen timer does, you setup the time (up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds) and it will count back to zero, when it reaches zero it will sound an alarm and that's it!

The object itself is a single, very light mesh so you can resize it to either put it in a tennis court or your fridge =D

It can be set to Owner only operation, group or everyone.

Of course the textures are inside for your customization needs.

We have over a dozen galleries dedicated to in-world artists, where they show their innovative creations. As such, we are continuing our feature - Meet the Artist. This week, we interviewed Antonia Ling, owner of Antonia Ling Gallery, Inspired By Gallery, Metropolis Poster Shop, and a 2001 themed gallery.

Antonia, tell us about yourself and your art.
“It's not easy to talk about myself. What have I to say about my person? Not much... really. I like photography and I like to photograph. I love to photograph old churches when I'm in Denmark. Or ships in the harbor... often details. Not the big ones, I prefer little old boats of the local fishermen. I like to photograph old cars and colorful flowers. I love art from the 1920s to today, I love a lot of the german BAUHAUS and their Master like Kandinsky, Alberts or Lazlo Moholy-Nagy.”

What are you doing currently?
“I try to photograph a bit. At the moment I deal with cyanotype. It fascinates me...”

What is your inspiration for art in world?
“I do what I do because I like to do it. When one in a million likes it... I'm happy.”

New release: Arcadia's Gramophone

I made a very well preserved gramophone for your house, a great decoration that will dress your living space.

But hey, you know me, I can't do a static object, so I also scripted it so when you click on it it winds up and plays "Volver" (super famous Argentina tango) by Carlos Gardel (the most famous tango singer in Argentina and may be the world), sung circa 1935, so it's very much period correct.

Of course I'm including all the textures inside the object to improve the compatibility with HG.

You can find my gramophone at the main shop or the mini shop at Wright Plaza in OSG.

She was constructed in Bremerhaven in 1960, and initially served as a commercial trawler as part of the Ross Group fleet, notably taking part in the Cod Wars of the 1970s. Following her decommissioning, she was purchased by Radio Caroline and outfitted as a radio ship, complete with 300-foot (91 m) antenna mast and 50 kW transmitter. She ran aground on the Goodwin Sands in November 1991, bringing the era of offshore pirate radio in Europe to an end. Little hacker bastard. Look how big the story is. You can hack as much as you want. It doesn't change the story. You are only momentary and nothing you do as a hacker makes you bigger. You are nothing, you have nothing, you will not have been in the end. How pathetic and pitiful. You think what you do is important and right. But you are alone, frustrated, and your hacking successes are those pathetic self-affirmations that don't really satisfy you. You want a world where you are respected. But you are not able to find your way in this world. Not able to approach people and see and accept the positive. To be or not to be, that is the question. In the end it was light or nothing. It's up to you. The negative cannot win. The + always flows to the - and no hacker turns it around. Hackers are mostly children of drug parents or rich people who are socially unfit. So sad, OK smart kids wake up sometime and make something of their life. Failures give up and their characters become impoverished. They fight hard for recognition in an environment where everyone is abusing everyone else to achieve the same illusion. In principle intelligent .... but what use is it if you are socially unfit? There are people who have created positive things, whose name will survive. Your miserable life and the attempts to enrich yourself ...... Your demise will not be noticed.

Did you know?

A good spotlight is always a good idea to highlight (no pun intended) some feature of your sim/shop or to have a focal light over an object at your home.

My spotlight comes in two versions: fully automatic to "rez and forget" and a manual version that allows you to choose the intensity and colour of the light and lets you turn on and off manually (the script has an automated version too).

It's a projector light, so for you advanced lightning system enabled guys you'll see that my spotlight will cast a realistic light. Editing it you can point it to anywhere to have a precise area of illumination.

Can you tell I'm a fan of lightning? =)

Did you know?

The espresso machine is a replica of a Brevetti Gaggia coffee maker, circa 1950. It's a commercial machine suitable for bars and restaurants but thanks to the magic of open grid you can use it anywhere!

Since I love to suffer, apparently, I made every coffee type I saw in Wikipedia under "coffee", so the machine gives 8 different varieties, each with it's own cup, animations and bento hand poses. The coffee level goes down as you sip your cup until it's empty and then the coffee detaches automatically. No perma attachement.
