Update V0.91112. Set autoSwitchGroup=2 to retain the older behavior of autoSwitchGroup: When you stand up, sfposer will not auto-switch to a smaller group

Good thing I haven't upgraded all my furniture boxes yet.

V 0.91111: Fixed the behavior when 'autoSwitchGroup' is 1, so that when a user stands up it switches back to another menu

You can click options->Edit Pose at any time, and then click "New Pose".

If you add poses manually to the .menu notecards, make sure you give a different name to each one

make sure the notecard "sfp" inside all objects contains the same password, then reset the scripts in the objects

Why do you think it should not be so?

Unfortunately OSgrid keeps randomly losing assets. I have replaced the SF Sea Water in the Satyrfarm package with a new one. You can find it in opensimworld region: https://opensimworld.com/hop/74730

you can remove all the scripts from an animal, and then drop in the animal_pose_maker script in them https://opensimworld.com/library?viewcode=112&raw=1&sid=5

Then click on them -> START . They will move but not do anything else.

No, they are not. Do they have regions here? thanks

At least these are still here: https://opensimworld.com/dir/?grid=avitronlogin.avitron.ne... and https://opensimworld.com/dir/?grid=avitron.net:8002

As far as I can tell, there are no more official sims because Alex had them all pulled, but there are still some third-party sims run by people who may not even know that they're breaking the rules, or even only that AviTron is off the Hypergrid.

This is to support regions e.g. roleplaying regions that require some kind of communication before joining. Currently only very few regions seem to be doing that. The policy is subject to change in the future if there is abuse

We will clean the very old ones soon. Meanwhile you can also report a region and we ll look into it

Yeah making a smooth ferris wheel is very hard. The keyframes would have to synchronize perfectly and since they are all different root objects, they are never going to start in sync. also the movement would be a ton of points in a sinusoidal movement around the wheel which is hard.

The simplest ferris wheel is a TargetOmega wheel, where each seat is a single child mesh that rotates with TargetOmega with exactly the opposite direction as the wheel. It is hugely hit-or-miss and only occasionally works in the viewer.

the SFposer should work with both Euler or Quaternions as rotations (but not in degrees if the euler is in degrees)

Actually we've explicitly allowed to have regions closed to group members. There are legitimate reasons for that, such as e.g. roleplaying sims. It is up to the owners of course to provide a good experience to people outside the group, and if they don't they should get a bad review. We may also remove sims which require other things, like e.g. paying for access to copybotted stuff and other unsavoury usages.

You can change the fourth column in the notecard RIDE to create a stop. Enter the number of seconds to stop at each specific point (0 = no stopping)

I thought that the last number was not working after reading the comments below. I will have to give it a try. Thanks!
Though I quite like separating out the stops into separate note cards as it makes adjusting a route at a later date a lot less bothersome. You can simply redo a single section without having to redo the entire route.
Thanks for the really handy script, I have had a lot of fun with it.

AFAIK they are separate subsystems. There is no reason why Y or X runs better / worse with ubODE
like(0)
The Y engine was designed and implemented by Ubit who is the designer of UBODE to improve the Physics Engine. Bullet is a Robert Adams invention that uses X engine :) UBODE Physics is best or close resembles SL scripts. I use both in my grid being some things run better on Bullet while others prefer UBODE. Best to use whats best for your application that uses Physics.

But physics are unrelated to the scripting engine. Both scripting engines can e.g. set the physics parameters of any physics engine.

If a big if that's the case why many having issues with mix match of engines vs. Physics. Half the time I don't argue with Ubit i'm just a poor mule?

It's a little odd for me that this conversation is happening now. When I finally settled in Opensim 5 years ago, the grid I was on was already using ubode and within a year switched to Yengine. There were some really old Xengine scripts that broke on some users regions that took a little work to sort through, but the few scripts I used the grid owner rewrote for me. All of the grids I'm on now, with the exception of Kitely, have used that combination for a long time. Additionally, all my spacecraft dating back 3+ years use ubode and Yengine and have had no issues in that time. Been very happy with the combination.

Many of us who run simulators have been doing so for several years. When I started hosting my simulators Bento had not come out yet. You had a choice of ode or bulletsim and Xengine was the only script engine that I am aware of... 0.7x was being phased out in favor of 08x ... I refused to upgrade to 09x until it matured... Remember the memory leaks, @Opensimworld? You will have people who are hesitant to upgrade and there are plenty of valid reasons for it.

The first Opensim grid I joined in 2018 was run by retired IT professional Bill Blight, and he was already using 0.9.0 at that time. Every time Ubit had something new, he and Bill would get together and load it into the grid, then ask me to tell them if my store broke or not. It was wild but fun. For a while, Bill even had his own version of the Firestorm viewer that I loved called Openstorm, but then he had a heart attack and decided to retire from grid hosting altogether. The current NGC development group has his mindset, and I love their willingness to be the first to step into the unknown. I'm on three of their grids now.

Xengine is still the most widely used along with Bulletsim. YEngine had a serious arithmetic bug that broke the Satyrfarm. That said, the farm, SFsail and the Sfposer all work well with Y now. I m not sure about the speed improvements since both of them rely on the C# compiler which optimizes everything.

When it comes to physics, ubode is more smooth for vehicles, however it doesn't work with most existing meshes. Bullet has improved a lot and even though it is not as smooth, it is good enough for most stuff. Currently my scripts are primarily made for X+BS

I sat up half the night running Y through the hoops.... I found a bunch of irritating little things which could be fixable but I am not willing to do so... For Now, X is perfect for my needs. Y is fast but not worth the headaches. A lot of my gadgets use your code or derivatives thereof and I cannot live without them! Thanks for chiming in!

Not using the GPL license for opensim was a big mistake. The most robust open source projects use GPL.

I agree: The GPL is designed to prevent the proprietary commercialization of Open Source code and encourages developers to contribute to development of the software; the BSD license places minimal restrictions on this behavior so anyone can take the code and do whatever they want with it without having to contribute anything back to the project.

The proprietary, non-free, closed-source, commercial payware macOS was mostly cobbled together from free, open-source FreeBSD. Should give you to think.

YES... Microsoft has ALSO stolen ideas from Linux then PATENTED them... if they tried to sue, many of those patents would be invalidated because the Linux community can prove they invented it. It is a shame that these big monopolies profit off of open source and try to do what they can to shut them down. Remember when Steve Ballmer was spreading FUD about Linux? At that same time right under his nose, Linux (in the form of Android) was gaining traction in the MOBILE arena. The harder he squeezed the more FLOSS slipped through his fingers. HA HA.

If you want to exclude some avatars from being counted as active users you can add their names to a notecard named exclude_list . The beacon will ignore them when counting users.

I dont see a reason why owners should not count as active visitors. Also there might be privacy issues if the website is tracking
when the owners are online or not
Thank you!
