The little publicity stalls are popping up all over the HIE regions, getting ready for the conference later this year. I wanted to share something that might help some of you. I was recently very sick. I called around several doctors offices trying to get in with a super bad case of the flu. They all were booked up! So I decided to try a different approach. I went online and there i found webdoctors.com. I called them which costed $59, and they called in flu antivirals to my local walmart, which costed another $34.00. I am feeling much better. You can contact them either over video, or over the phone. For those too sick to leave the house, this is a great option. I just want to help you all. There may be other web doctors on the web you can try. But my wait time with this one was 8 minutes, and the phone rang. incredible!

This picture was taken inworld so it isn't the best but these earrings were created just a bit differently than I normally create. I worked with both Photoshop and Rhinogold to create these then assembled inworld combining the parts. Photoshop has a great 3d editor where you can load images and in seconds turn them into 3d. I have Good News and Bad News first the Bad News which really isn't so bad. You see, after remodeling and rezzing the new store which just had holiday jewelry, I had several contact me asking me to please bring back the original Monentes Store with all the jewelry regardless of the store being completely full and disorganized. They wanted more choices the mess did not matter. Alrighty then!! Let's go with stocked full and messy !! The original store has been restored! I will get the holiday jewelry placed today! RANDOM THOUGHT ON AN ARCANE TEXTURE, CREEPY NEIGHBORS, CREATIVITY and INTEGRITY

When we last left my meandering rant, i mentioned that my landlord and (Undecel Masala at Masala Estates!) regarding two regions that had popped up right next to mine. I was "Avedon Park" and they were Avedon Forest and another name. When I explained that I had no relation at all to the owners of those regions, my landlord and HERO was kind enough to lift my region up and move it elsewhere. Apparently, they were just trying to copy as much of my whole damn region as they could. And soon enough, a region pops up using the same naming concept as me. (Avedon Park, How about Avedon's Peak? Mark's Park? or Avedon Place? Oh well. As so many like to argue, this is how we roll in OS and it "happens all the time". The saddest part is that these are people I associate with and consider friends!

Jump ahead only a month or so later that I started releasing the history or "lore" I have created and posting it here for people to enjoy. It is an overall narrative that applies not only to the region in OS but is also being used as part of a graphic novel, artwork, and music. It was less than a week that a similar "history' with just a minor change or two popped up at the previously mentioned region.
Anyone who says copying is the best form of flattery should be stripped naked, tied to the back of a truck, and drug down a main street.) Again, you can make endless arguments about how "everyone does it" "that is how OS works" and "no laws are being broken" (though I am learning fast that is questionable!). The point is that it shows a complete lack of INTEGRITY. It is such a shitty thing to do, especially in OS, where you are not likely to make any sort of financial gain from it, you are just doing it for "likes" and laziness.

But enough whinging. What can you really do about any of this? Well, after some research, I probably more than you think, especially if you live in the US.

First, say something! Even if you end up being wrong, it is important to publicly express your feelings on the issue and explain your work.

Second, Copywrites and protection through the DMCA are fairly easy and cheap (ie Free) to acquire. You can file for protection yourself for free, OR you can find someone who is already protected and simply absorb your content into their protection. And in the US you often don't have to file ANYTHING to be protected if your idea has been completed and made public, you can seek DMCA protections.

Now, and here we go back to just needing some integrity.

Idea vs. Expression:
Ideas themselves cannot be copyrighted. This means that the core concept or plot of your project cannot be exclusively protected by copyright.
However, the expression of that idea—how you write it down, how you present it, and certain details or traits—can be protected. (This is the future path I am walking but you should choose what works for you)

Also, OSGrid and other grids need to do more to police themselves. Know the difference between BOB Q Guy buying an item in SL or Kitely, copying it and bringing into Open Sim, and handing it out, as compared to someone just taking a person's work without payment or permission, and then claiming it as their own idea or concept. And don't assist them by allowing them to use your website and tools to promote a hijacked concept.

And finally, when it happens just speak out. you will take hell for it and you might even be WRONG, but speak up and let people know this hurts you.

and wow, did I just ramble on or what?? Sorry about that, but I do think there is a possible "integrity deficit" in our house and it would be up to us each to change that. I love challenges, but my recent review mentioned that my belly button rings are not rigged for Athena. Athena is not a standard avatar shape so when rigging with Avastar it isn't quite right. My belly button rings are meant to attach to the belly for standard shapes. I just added a new Peace sign belly button ring that attaches to the standard avatar belly. I never say never, but this time I am - I don't want to take a ripped rig into blender to please my critics.

Thank you @FredBeckhusen for lending me a hand with the SkyRealm Observatory! Fred finished up the major parts of the OAR tonight and when creating the sim, I loved Darkness Papp's Rivendell surround and landscaping and thought the Observatory would fit nicely there, so I merged the two and did a bit of arranging to combine the two. I still have tweaking to do but we are getting closer~Thank you!!

We have entered in the month of OCTOBER and October brings Halloween. me and my husband have done many things through the years in SL, AND HAVE DECIDED TO SHARE SOME OF THEM WITH YOU.

I will post when we put things out and everything we do put out is our creations. We hope you get a copy of the items and enjoy them and put them in your stores on your land. I have added 7 seats on the pumpkins.

THE JOYS OF DREAMGRID. DreamGrid is a software by Fred Beckheusen that makes it super easy to set up your own grid on windows. Having your own grid means that you can back up your lands at a whim, or on a schedule you set. You also have the power to back up your own inventory. Why is this important? When a grid is down for maintenance you are at the mercy of other people relying on their timeline to get the grid back up and running. Having your own grid also lets you control your own npc's, and gives you vast amounts of power that you don't have if someone else is in charge. If you have a problem with a person you can block their entire grid, or just that person if you don't like them. You can create and control tides, and automate birds flying in the air. Another super cool feature dreamgrid has, is that it lets you just start up the regions people are in, or going to. This means you can have 500 different lands, but if only 10 people are on your grid, then only up to 10 would be active. So basically as people teleport around your 500 lands, only the lands they teleport to instantly load for them to enjoy. This gives you a vast amount of options. DreamGrid even comes with hundreds of ready-made lands you can click and install and instantly enjoy. It also means that you can run hundreds of regions on a small not very powerful computer at your home, as only the active regions people teleport to will be running.
DreamGrid has so many many options and features, to many to mention... That you don't have access to or even dream about if you are a member of someone elses grid. It's easy to run. Now of course there will be some people who have difficulty starting a program or are just technically dumb who will complain about dreamgrid, but these people really shouldn't be allowed near a computer in the first place. DreamGrid is dead simple to operate and has features such as auto restart a crashed region, auto restart all regions at a certain time similiar to secondLife's rolling restarts, and of course the ability to backup all your hard work and your precious inventory at a moments notice. Put it on an external drive and you will never again lose all your data. So give DreamGrid a try! It really is a work of art that deserves praise and recognition.
