We have developed a tool that can bulk create and load regions from oar files by the customer filling in a simple spreadsheet if anyone needs assistance. We moved 87 regions to Wolf Grid yesterday. Our assets are stored in Object Storage which is spread across multiple servers and locations. We maintain 2 live backups of the assets at any time. If it gets low on space we just buy more space.

We are offering free migration for the next month.

Main Server Upgrade
Hello everyone, and Happy 2025!

As AviWorlds continues to grow, so does our need for a stronger backend to support it. Over the next few days, we will be performing maintenance on our main server systems, which will impact grid logins, assets, and other grid services.

We anticipate some downtime during this upgrade and will work as quickly as possible to minimize disruptions. We will announce the start of this maintenance here and on Discord.

During this period, logins will be unavailable, and if you are online when the systems go down, you may be disconnected or experience unusual behavior due to the maintenance. Please keep an eye on our News section for updates.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE LIKE TO LIVE ON THE EDGE INCUDING ME, I LOVE DG. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU LIVE ON THE EDGE AND UPDATE DG WITH BETAS YOU RUN INTO ISSUES. THE GRID HAD LOADING ISSUES ALONG WITH LOADING OAR ONTO THIS REGION.

IT TURNS OUT THE ISSUE WITH GETTING THE REGION BACK WAS A CORRUPTED OAR. I HAVE ROLLED BACK TO A STABLE VERSION AND HOPEFULLY WILL NOW BE ABLE TO DO SYSTEM WIDE BACKUPS AND SHOULD HAVE NO MORE LOADING REGION ISSUES.

I ALSO WANT TO THANK FRED FOR ALL HIS HARD WORK!

If you have land in this region you will have go and reclaim it once its back online. you will have to re build.

I am so sorry this happend, not sure how but an oar got on the region and erased what was there.

And before anyone asks about recent backups, due to issues with dream grid we cant do any current backups until its fixed. once we get things settles, I will do a system wide backup as well as oars.

A PEICE OF ADVICE, DONT LIVE ON THE EDGE LIKE US AND TRY BETAS LOL THEY ARE CALLED BETAS FOR A REASON, STICK WITH THE CURRENT VERSION FRED SAYS IS STABLE.

Since I am on OSW Website (2 weeks now) many come to my Big City Life and ask for shops. They stand at landing point with distance draw 256 and think that the promenade of little New Jersey is the big city. They stand there for some minutes and cam around looking for shops perhaps. But little New Jersey is country side of the sim. Not the big city lol
To be clear: The shops are just a bonus, because Cities have shops you can buy things. This sim is more like a game experience like you would explore cities. Lot of traffic, all is moving in a City environment. 25 000 scripts are running and 400 animesh people are the population of the sim.
The landing point is just to start with this city experience and load in cache. So this biiig sim (7x7) is purely built to the limit what opensim as technology is still capable and able to offer. It is a lot. But of course, not what we could have with unreal engine or think of Cyberpunk 2077.
At Landing point you get introduction with maps where you can see and listen what you can explore. Here is the video you see also inworld at landing point directly if you have mediaplayer on.

If you want to drive with bus in the city then you have to walk over the rails to the bus stop at trailer park. I had no space anymore for a bus stop at Little New Jersey Promenade (Landing Point)
So be warned. Big City Life is not to be confused with other sims that are called similar but are malls. I have shops in the city and also many exclusive things you get only here in opensim but it is not a mall to go for shopping. Most you can copy anyway and don't need a shop for it. If you see something you want to copy then do it. No need to ask for permission. We are in opensim. Not secondlife. Sharing is caring.

It's with a heavy heart I announce the closure of the Hub Grid.

It was never one of those 'popular' Grids, and nor is the E Grid, but I like to think a few held it in a special sense :) We may not have been popular or well visited, or featured on the Safari or anything like that, but we enjoyed what we had. Sadly the funds are no longer there to finance the hosted Grid, so it will be shutting its doors, so to speak, immediately.

The E Grid will remain available for its rentals and may continue to offer new rentals.

If you are renting there, be sure you are wearing the Residents tag to visit your home.

Most of the E Grid will now be private, all that is not rentals.

While I am sad to announce the Hub going dark, I want to shout out to Masala Estates for their wonderful hosting and recommend them very very highly to anyone!

I am myself going on Hiatus here for an extended time. Life has changed for me and not in a negative way, but still changed. I will check from time to time, and want to thank those of you who visited our regions, for all your support. You truly made it worthwhile to stick around :)
