Don't let Ms Chopsy hear you say that, she wants to LEVEL Dismayland and build high rise condominiums and shopping malls for the RICH. More is revealed in her conversation with CEO Miser Glutnee. The conversation between Dale and Marvin Pigeon will also give more "story elements" for the region... Cheers

The first thing I do when I get a new dance globe is to delete all of the NPCs with that script then insert my own... it is a great timesaver. I update NPCS on my regions once a year... having this handy script makes quick work of removing NPC so I can insert replacement cards swiftly without needing to open the furniture. just drop it in there then after a few seconds drop in the replacement cards and RESET...

When you have an object which contains more than 100 items, it takes a while to get the list of items in there, even longer when there are 200 or more... it used to take me hours to change NPCs in all furniture in a region, now I can complete the operation in a few minutes... just saying.....

Exactly. Some of the responses say all that work -- and waiting -- is easy. Whatever works for them. I, for one, find this script dang handy.

For the convenience of those who do not wish to make system avatars for their Dismayland visit, I have created avatars suitable for the simulator and are offering them FREE at my Content Embassy on OSgrid. hg.osgrid.org:80:xoaox

Several new features added today and hopefully I will be able to pull this site out of BETA really soon =D

This would not happen if you took the time to read the description and prepare your avatar before entering the sim. System avatars ONLY. No mesh or prim attachments are allowed. This is part of the user experience, and anyone who chooses not to comply with the guidelines chooses to be sent away. Peace to you.

My new health detection system will save lots of aggravation, I worked out a way to avoid sending avatars home when one of the park's fatalities are triggered or injuries are received from one of the insipid game booths. I appreciate all of the feedback from visitors, you guys (and the lsl/ossl wiki's) are helping me to make this place awesome for everyone.

I am glad you enjoyed the sim. I am still working out the bugs and adding new features. To make things less annoying with fatalities, I added a zone where avatars can regenerate and start over.

Peril lurks where you least expect it. If one of the attractions depletes all of your health, you are welcome to come back and find all of the other dangers and demusements we have in store for all of our victims .... Uh... I mean guests! Have a Dismay Day at Dismayland!

YOU GO GIRL! The real challenge is making legal attachments look impressive! Kudos to you!

There are other reasons for the SYSTEM avatar FEATURE. This discourages cheating the health algorithm, if we were to allow any attachment to be worn, vehicle scripts could be placed inside which would still work even though scripts are not permitted. This makes it harder for miscreants to use malicious workarounds.

Ok though I remember the Zombie game in Osgrid had a script detection feature where one could not wear any sort of script on the playing field or it simply wouldn't allow one to play. So must be ways to prevent that even with prim or mesh attachments.. That isn't to argue with the system avatar requirement but I do like what you are testing because I am very interested in knowing how much load mesh actually places on a server and hope to hear your thoughts on it once you try both types of avatars.

The system avatar "feature" was always part of the plan from the very beginning. Originally, I wanted to have everyone exploring the sim in "hazmat suits" which would automatically be attached to the avatar upon landing but that would require full script access for them to function and that opened the door to other problems with avatars not being able to properly sit in the rides. It got to a point where things were becoming over-complicated so I had to trim out some of the extra "fluff". I heard of the zombie game you mentioned but never tried it.

Is it considered HIGH TREASON to make a THEMED simulator and use scripted agents to enforce it? The people who actually came to visit Dismayland could understand why this FEATURE is implemented. Not everyone will want to participate in this living work of art and I am OK with that. There are several VALID reasons for doing this, mostly to ensure the best lag-free experience for all!

(spoiler) If you pay attention in 'nearby chat' sometimes you might notice that the NPCs are complaining about not being able to wear their favorite meshes... As you stated it is "all about the theme" ... Cheers!

Kudos to you, If everyone were mindful about their appearance, that would not be an issue. It takes real skill to make a system avatar look good and unfortunately few people wish to put in that effort. When Dismayland went on the drawing board 3 years ago the "system avatar rule" was part of the plan and I intend to keep it that way throughout the beta test. I will re-evaluate this once the park comes out of Beta when all of the REAL COOL things (like ride mishaps and breakage) are implemented.

Every time I think about switching to a mesh avatar, I just can't bring myself to do it. I have tweaked my shape many times over the years, and honestly, another avatar just wouldn't feel normal for me. I really want to visit you and check out your hard work, so perhaps I will lose my mesh pointy ears and put on some flexi hair, that should be fine, and wear an outfit that is system only, I have plenty of those. I understand completely the why of the rules and support you 100%. No one looks pretty when riding something that distorts their face into an ugly scream anyway. :D

The female park employees all have system hair, and it can be made to look decent enough for this application.

The sim is very script and mesh heavy, I tried my best to optimize all assets for faster load times. System avatars cost fewer resources to draw and less load on the server.
