You then land on a small island in the Friends Region.
Is this linked to the situation where var regions have fixed landing points that cannot be changed? Could this be fixed using the Welcome region? As it is a 1x1 it should be possible to set a Landing Point.

I am sorry, maybe I am missing something but what is the issue if a visitor goes to an area that is being worked on?
So long as the permissions are set correctly its not like they can do anything and personally as someone who is learning I find it really helpful to see how more experienced people put things together. If someone becomes a real nuisance they can be banned from everywhere I think (Estate Ban?) I have already brought a couple of people to see my project area and they were interested to find out more about Friends-Grid as well as give me some tips which I found useful. So yes you may have someone sitting in your favourite chair occasionally but a friendly request and explanation will probably see them move along or else there are options to eject and ban. But surely we should be looking to expand our friendship and make visitors feel welcome rather than make them feel like the enemy? Maybe a simple message at the welcome region or on the OSW entry to say the grid is a mixture of homes, completed and developing projects and asking visitors to respect privacy would be a place to start and only look at more rigorous means of security only if needed.
Everyone has more experience around OS than me, but withbthe exception of dances and some Malls, it is rare to see more than a couple of people in a region or even grid in some places at the same time. So not sure where all the demon hoard is coming from that people want to keep out! 🤔
Ultimately I am truly grateful for the opportunity I have been given, and that is not because the owner of the grid is my Mistress. I truly am grateful for the land, the support and friendship from everyone and the overall "feel" of F-G.
There are enough problems in the real world and maybe that makes us look on the dark side of everything, but for me, I would prefer to see us being as inclusive as we possibly can be, there are enough other places in OS and RL that seem he'll bent on creating division.
A non-resident group makes sense so as we develop and want to make people aware of changes or new features we can send messages out.

Theres a couple of ways to look at why some wouldn't want their builds seen half done.
Some creators, like artists, don't like their work seen before its finished, for various reasons and its subjective each creator. They may want to hide their techniques, or like Reggie mentioned simply don't like showing their process.
I'm 50/50 on the fence about it, in some ways I absolutely hate half finished work being seen, but don't really mind sharing it with friends and teaching.
The other side is the dark side of the force, Copyboting. Which of course can happen any time, but if my work is stolen, i want it stolen finished with my signatures attached if that makes sense.

First, you have to know that I'm also new to all those things: I've been online for just 2 years, doing almost nothing except dancing and flirting during the first 18 months ;)
It's the first time I get such a place (Mad Max) to built in. Atm I'm testing, trying things, learning by myself or with the help of some of us. Sometimes I like the result, sometimes not. Maybe I'm too shy or I lack of self confidence, but I wont feel any pleasure to show drafts or works in progress to strangers.
My main point is security (privacy is another story). Are we all sure we configured permissions correctly on our places ? I am not. It's maybe not complicated, as Safine said, but for beginners like me, I find it useful to talk about that before making our places more visible with beacons.
Of course, most of people are kind and nice, but one bad is enough to create many troubles. Maybe you heard about some Priscilla Kleenex (!) who seems to like to put mess on not correctly protected regions/parcels. I also remember HD being attacked during events...
Finally, I see things like you do and I also want we stay an open and inclusive place.
I even accept to share my home's bed with strangers to prove it :)

Pin - when Miss Safine is on at the same time as you she will be able to set the land so you can "buy" it and its contents for free and you are good to go. If you need to rez anything for now you can search for "sandbox" on the world map and TP over to it.

this is partially correct.....if making avi...I will sell land....if not making avi, I will set to group. I am still trying to get group settings finalized......need my group expert for that....but soon all will be rezzing at their homes.

The people at Stark have been nothing but welcoming since I first arrived over the hypergrid. It is a great place with the most friendly people I have met while jumping around the hypergrid.....and i do that a lot.....a girl has to shop doesn't she???
