Allow us to invite you to join our Friends of The Genesis Roleplay Grid HUD. The "What Are You Looking For" Scavenger Hunt.
Find something someone is looking for and win points toward the reward of a Scavenger Hunt Olympic medal and other prizes.
Some initial ideas:
The hunt would run from the time we come up with an official plan (by May 1st) and run until the end of May.
The beta plan for awarding points.
1. A point for each week that has passed since the original request.
2. Points for how hard it would seem to find the items.
3. Gazillion points for finding a Radio Man That Walks, Talks, And Yodels.
An idea for the awarding of prizes:
1. Have a "What Are You Looking For" event.
2. The finds are rezzed at the event.
3. We vote on how hard it we think it would it would have been to find the item.
4. Factor in the age of the request and award points accordingly.
5. The top 3 point people stand on a winners platform and are given a gold, silver or bronze metal.
6. Additional prizes?

to be my best build ever. It took 6 months to find things, build
destroy, build, adjust and redo. Much of the time was spent searching.

Recently I have had a number of people requesting that I allow child avatars at friends-grid and I want to discuss this openly and honestly.
It is not my place to try and push my morals and values upon others....however, as a grid owner, it is my place to learn the laws of every country involved. In this situation, I need to understand the Child pornography laws of not only where our servers are located, but I also had to research and learn the laws of every country we have residents and guests from. We currently have residents from 30 countries and guests from another 35. People who say "laws dont apply " are incorrect on this subject. You may have servers in one country.....but all the laws of your resident's countries come into play also.
A good thing to remember is that because you have gotten away with something for 10 years does not make it legal. You may never get caught....and then again.....somebody with a grudge may turn you in.
I want to point out a recent post by Jerralyn Franzic . Jerralyn showed the cutest childs outfit ever! ....and she also made the wisest statement ...."I don't understand the hatred towards child avis in Open Sim. Sure, they shouldn't engage in adult activities and maybe not hang in Adult sims but otherwise, what's the problem?" Personally I would love to see kids riding ponies at my farm....and having fun being mermaids. If everyone in child avi were to abide by Jerralyn's statement, there would not be an issue.
However, lets talk about reality. Not all child avis are simply riding ponies and playing in the water. The simple truth is that many (not all) of these child avis are having sex. Some grids use this to boost their traffic. In some countries, including US, the graphic illustration of a child online having sex is 100% illegal. You see, it does not matter if the person behind the computer is 12 or 52......the visual computer generated depiction of a child (child avatar) involved in sex is very illegal in a number of countries. 18 U.S.C. § 2252 Many people will say their countries are different....and this is stupid. I did not make laws........but I need to abide by them. Before people jump on this and criticize me ....I would suggest you read the laws of your country....your servers country...and the laws of all your residents or guests. There are many misinformed people on this subject. I am not saying the laws are right or wrong......but learn the laws.....then comment. You need to learn laws for your servers country...and all your guests countries. This post is not about morals......it is about laws....of all the countries involved.
I have spent over 200 hours reading international laws. Some countries allow things that others do not. However, you have to consider all the laws because of guests.
In closing....do I hate kids and kids avis......nooooooo. I would love to be able to allow them to come to friends grid. However, this is a less than perfect world in which we live, and I have to look at the potential liability of allowing those child avis. Because of that, Child avis are not allowed on friends-grid......no exceptions! I am sad....because there are some wonderful people in kids avis that I do not get to have visit.

I found it!!! Well, I found one of them. It is called alien plant c. There were also an a, b, and d. Maybe an e. It is made with sculpts and prims, the "fronds" are flexi prims with a tentacle movement script to make them move when you approach. The plant makes a kool alien sound when you approach as well. Though I would be thrilled to have them all, finding even one of them has made me so happy and thankful. Inside of the plant was the plant pictured with them. It doesn't do anything. Thank you to everyone who has helped with suggestions on where to look. Oh! I found it at R&M Creations where I found some other good stuff.

Tarot V3. This is a new version that I just made on 3/16/2024. It now can do reversed cards, and ill dignified cards. Now it automatically chooses whether the card is up right or reversed, and shows the appropriate meaning. I took the seed from the random number generator built into the computer, which is run by a crystal on the mother board of your computer. This crystal vibrates at a frequency and produces the number out of the vibrations. Amazing! Anyway, This new tarot table can show normal and reversed cards as a result, making the entire process much easier to read, and it now more closely follows the laws of chance just like shuffling a real life deck of tarot cards. Whether a card is ill dignified or well dignified is determined by looking to the cards to the left and right of the card. If one is reversed and one is normal they cancel each other out so the card stands as is. If both are normal it is positive reinforcement and strengthens the card in the middle. I see that the small group of haters who are ruining the OpenSIM and OSW community have already gone into total madness and disregard for any rights, laws or at least basic respect for the rest of the world. These people now allow themselves to spread outright slander for which huge corporations have filed lawsuits against them and/or their contributors. They allow themselves, without any evidence or justification, to charge anyone who is not their slave with serious criminal offenses and pass final sentences.

I will continue my principle of not using any bans. But common sense forces me to take some measures to limit the access of haters, religious fanatics, extremists, extortionists and the mentally ill. Starting today, access to all my regions will be under the "Group Access Only" policy. If you want access - ask and after thinking about it, I might answer you...

For the last 3 weeks, I have dealt with a intermittent issue on my grid that has about driven me nuts. I have tested, and eliminated possibilities …..without luck.
Yesterday two of the largest grid owners in open sim, Lone Wolf from Wolf Territories and Josh Boam from Aviworlds, took time from their busy schedules to help finally fix this issue. In addition , Rafael from Wolf Territories assisted. I cannot say thanks enough!
Although I work with Josh’s hosting business, this involved much more. Josh would not give up and recruited Lone Wolf.
In my opinion, maybe this is what opensim was designed to be: sharing of knowledge and helping each other.
Lone Wolf and Josh did not have to give up their time to help a tiny grid…..but they did!
Maybe we can all learn from these individuals!

FYI. The default setting of 2 threadsets can cause major headaches depending on your region….it is way too low in some cases. You all probably know that…but I learned.

Hey folks. I've been fighting with this in Blender but I am a novice. It appears to convert successfully to .dae but then when I try to upload it it says "missing required level of detail" and won't complete. This group was created 3 months ago. We have 61 members and 2 full pages of posts. The only group larger has 71 members. It was created 5 years ago. It has 7 posts. Our growth in such a short time and the amount of activity must the works of some mad scientist! Or our helpers. I'm going with helpers. Thanks folks!

The photo is of a capuchin monkey being trained by an organization formerly known as "Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled, Inc". It was founded to raise and train capuchin monkeys to provide daily in-home assistance to people living with spinal cord injury or other mobility impairments.
They are transitioning from a service animal model, and are now exploring innovative assistive robotic technologies and the various uses of augmented/virtual reality. The aim is to use these technologies to assist those living with physical disabilities by helping meet their socialization, mental health and other health care needs. Another demo of tidal water, so this stream appears and disappears depending on the height of the tide. 99% of the regions on our grid use tidal water and there is a server that keeps them all in sync. You could have a castle with a tideal area around it that sometimes is under water and sometimes is not etc.
