Love your work Marianna and it is practically the only jewelry I wear. I second the motion for Luna to give a texturing class. I know that will be a lot of work to pull it together and I am willing to help in any way possible to make it happen. It would be an honor to learn from you, my friend. Marianna probably has just the place for us to meet up. I hope you will consider it Luna. I bet some other folks would be interested too.

Thank you Star, while meeting up would be nice it would be better if the tutorial is published either at my website or here at OSW as an article so people in the future can see it too. I have a few how-to docs about it does require lots of planning for the doc to be concise. I work with Blender with models and such and did learn tips on texturing. My problem has always been in marking the seams with jewelry it is hard. So when I began in SL you will see that jewelry was texture mapped, when I came to OpenSim I got a bit lazy about it because even though I went through all of the steps to map it correctly the final result didn't look much different until you see Fred Beckhusen's gold wow. Luna too creates beautiful gold. I know that with the specular maps, it helps with shine but it is the Lighting that makes it look meh but with the new PBR technology it will be exciting to see gold with PBR enabled.

I think we creative types are AFK a lot. Once I get in the zone of creating something, I could get messages from 10 different people and not see one of them. It happens and I am sure they understand. This ring is stunning!

Diva actually passed away in Dec 2019. She never saw the pandemic happen. People keep saying the wrong date, so I wanted to correct it. I was actually with her inworld the night before she passed. So I know for sure 2019 is the correct year. Thank you. RIP my dear friend. We all miss you! People still talking about you! :) She would be so happy and humbled to know folks still shop at her stores. Thank Danny.

Thank you Pagane. That is very sweet of you to say. (((HUGS))) The Neverworld avi has her eyebrows messed up for some reason and all three have the same classic body, same eyes, bom for eyebrows, etc. though the shapes are probably slightly different as I am always messing with it on my main Avatar, which is the one on Genesis and then forget to pass it along to the others. :) The Lagniappe grid I am spending a lot of time on as it is a new grid owned by my sister. Love both grids and people on them! Neverworld Avatar is the oldest, almost 3 years! Lovely grid. As for avatars and fake sims and statistics, I don't care about those things. I never care what people think of me either. Love me, hate me, or be indifferent. I am who I am and I always march to the beat of my own drum. And I try my best to be kind to even the rudest people on this planet. When my days here are done, all these things won't matter, What will matter is if I left this place better somehow. :) I hope you have a fantabulous day/night. Come see me!!

Thank you for keeping her region open. She was a dear, close friend of mine and I still miss her. I joined the Dynamic grid because of her and still have an Avatar there. She did a lot for the Open Sim Community with her content contribution. She was one of my first friends when I joined Open Sim all those years ago. When I asked her where I could find some nails so my hands wouldn't be so ugly, she gave me some nails that I still wear today. I made some other colors from copies I made.
We have a Memorial for her at Haven Of Memories on the Genesis Roleplay Grid that anyone can visit. She was a great friend and would help anyone and was always open to having a chat even if she was busy. I trusted her enough to become friends with her in Real Life and I will always be thankful for her friendship and sad that she is gone. I was with her the night before she passed. I am grateful for the time spent with her. Rest in Peace Dear Friend. People still talk about you and miss you, Diva!!

I don't care about ranking. I don't care how many people, bots, etc. are in a region. What I care about is if it is interesting enough for me to spend my time in, if they have what I am looking for, or if my friends are there. Instead of arguing, I would love to see us all be supportive of each other. If someone's region or venue is successful, we should all celebrate with them and be inspired to make our regions even better. I use this site to see what the newest thing is, to find places to explore, venues I want to visit, who is singing or DJing where, and to make friends with all of you. It saddens me to see everyone upset over something that in the grand scheme of things, doesn't really matter. At least not to me. I wish everyone the greatest success in everything they do! Peace!

People should wear what they want. I think half the folks you see showing their boobs or more are most likely men anyway. One of the hardest things for me has been realizing that the boy I am talking to is a girl or the girl I am talking to is a boy. I'm a girl in Virtual and Real. :) I don't think we should slut shame or conserve shame. If you want to show off your boobs and butt, by all means, go for it. Only you can decide what you are comfortable with. I think it is far sexier to leave something to the imagination to be discovered with an intimate partner. But that is only my opinion. There are thousands of opinions. There is plenty of clothing available that is sexy for us to choose from. What KrisTina and others want are more options for more conservative clothing. If someone wanted to open up a shop offering those options, there is clearly a niche for it. So who is going to open a shop?

I use a classic avatar. I try to keep my complexity down. I wear mesh hair and combinations of system and mesh. That should be good enough, but if it isn't, well, ya'll have fun!

Kudos to you, If everyone were mindful about their appearance, that would not be an issue. It takes real skill to make a system avatar look good and unfortunately few people wish to put in that effort. When Dismayland went on the drawing board 3 years ago the "system avatar rule" was part of the plan and I intend to keep it that way throughout the beta test. I will re-evaluate this once the park comes out of Beta when all of the REAL COOL things (like ride mishaps and breakage) are implemented.

Every time I think about switching to a mesh avatar, I just can't bring myself to do it. I have tweaked my shape many times over the years, and honestly, another avatar just wouldn't feel normal for me. I really want to visit you and check out your hard work, so perhaps I will lose my mesh pointy ears and put on some flexi hair, that should be fine, and wear an outfit that is system only, I have plenty of those. I understand completely the why of the rules and support you 100%. No one looks pretty when riding something that distorts their face into an ugly scream anyway. :D

This has been going on since the beginning. I think if there was a fix for this, it would have been developed by now. It sure would save us all a lot of problems and misunderstandings. Most of us are not thieves or in the habit of claiming the work of others as our own. If we are all aware that this is an issue that happens when someone uploads ANY OAR and not be so quick to judge or anger, we would all be a lot happier. Rogue leave your shops, make disclaimer signs and hang them where folks can see them, and keep making music happen on your grid.

When I discovered OS in 2015, there was not all the stuff we have now. I thought the owner of the grid I had landed on was the most creative person I had ever met as literally every single thing on his grid was created by him.
When I complimented him on his great talent, I learned for the first time about OARS and Linda Kelly. They were all her OARS and because he uploaded them to his grid, the technology recognized him as the creator. A lot of people with grids had her OARS at that time as it allowed a grid to have regions already set up and get the grids up and running quickly. Every one of them showed as creators of Linda Kelly OARS on their grids. This is the nature of uploading OARS into a grid even if it was originally created by someone else. Tech makes you the creator. It's a thing. It seems if there was a fix it would have been done by now. I have an OAR of my land. I fully expect everything on it that I didn't make, I will become the creator along with everything I did make if I ever have to use it. It is upsetting cause no one wants to claim the work of others unless they are a jerk, but there may not be a fix for that, so people need to chill. I created more on my region than not, so in the event I have to use the OAR one day because of a disaster, I will be darn happy MY work got saved and offer disclaimers and apologies to all the creator's work I did use on my build. As far as I know, that is the nature of uploading our OARS. Hang a sign with disclaimers and if anyone sees their stuff and is upset about their name not being on it any longer, then they can always offer you an exchange of the product with their name on it. Another thing, Did the names of the items in question change the name or description? Or did just the creator name change?

The actual Name of the product and the description stayed in tact.. it did NOT change in any way! When I click to edit.. it says Felix Mafia is the creator.. but when I click on an item inside.. it has me listed as the creator because I uploaded the oar.. ALL of this was brought to my attention today when I tried to teleport to one of my favorite regions where I shop.. it said the mac address was blocked.. so I contacted the store owner and asked why.. they said because I removed their name as creator.. I did not and I would never do that! Not intentionally.. this was done via tech error.. I did not do this! OpenSim is MESSED UP MAN!

If you can see who the creator is, one thing you can do is put the creator's name in the description, Like Created By SoandSo. Leave the original name of the object. I don't think there is any other way to fix this. One thing I am now doing is I put Star Ravenhurst Designs as part of the name, I put it in the description and then a note card is automatically inserted into every prim I rez when building stuff. If someone uploads an OAR that has anything I have created on it, at least my name will still be attached to the object even if it shows them as the creator. The only reason to be mad in this case is if people go renaming stuff and remove my name as part of the name of the object. These days, there is a LOT of stuff that is showing Unknown as the creator, so there is that as well. Putting your name in the name field when naming whatever it is will help keep your name attached.
