So one could say the Decadence-HG body was mostly made for a male target audience who couldn't blow all the other bodies far enough out of proportion?

And it seems typical for men to not care about their female avatars' outfit, let alone making her more than one. I mean, there are enough male avatars out there who have been wearing the same clothes for an eternity.

If I told you how many clothes and outfits I have, you might think I'm someone's female alt. Then again, the pictures I've already posted of myself here may be enough to believe that.

There's quite a number of sims for which this sign should be mandatory.

He is the same guy who set up a "freebie" mall, put up "freebies" he gathered from somewhere on the Hypergrid and then had the audacity to offer them for money. OS-$, but still. He still referred to them as "freebies" although he had technically made them payware. He said that in the unlikely case that his visitors would run out of money, they could ask him, and he'd give them more because his grid doesn't offer a way of earning money. AFAIR, all these items came from the "Never buy in OpenSim" copybotting mob, so he somehow managed not to offer something distributed under a non-commercial Creative Commons license by its creator.

Now he seems to go to Second Life himself with a hacked viewer, maybe even copybot entire store sims and throw the items he has stolen himself into his store as they were. He does exactly nothing to hide the fact that all these are commercial items stolen from Second Life. He leaves the box art as-is with all the Second Life-exclusive brands on it. He doesn't even throw everything into neat little "Stuff" boxes so that it isn't too plainly visible where everything comes from. Nope, he presents his prey in a "freebie" store in plain sight.

Better yet, he makes them exclusive to his grid. Remember the "Share with no mercy" slogan? Its main goal was for grid owner and sim owners to offer copybotted items at their own places to obfuscate just how they got into OpenSim. This guy makes crystal-clear that not only the items in his shop are stolen, but also that he has imported them into OpenSim himself, if not even stolen them from Second Life himself. And now he also seems to claim that he has created them.

Oh, and he and his grid both reside in a EU country. The creators of the items he offers could very easily sue him into oblivion and have his entire grid shut down.

I was almost inclined to believe that he tries hard to appear like a criminal mobster boss who breaks laws left and right in order to come over as badass. But he rather looks like he's too lazy and careless to do things legally and too dumb to do them illegally.

Category Adult, but General rating? This can't be quite right.

Pity that a Flickr account is necessary to view this picture because it contains nudity. Speaking of which, does Boreal Sea South 2 and/or 6 officially allow public nudity?

Sad to read this as others have said already. The closure of Stark will deal a great blow to the community of those who love to feel free and have fun in the nude. There seems to be nothing that's even halfway fit to take its place, especially not with regular events and a community where nearly everyone knows everyone, knows everyone naked even. I mean, what'll be left when Stark is gone? Other nude/clothing-optional beaches? None of them have a community worth mentioning, and if anyone ever goes there, it's avatars in pairs who want to have sex or single avatars scouting sex locations. Or nudity is allowed, but unlike Stark, if you want to get cosy, you'll have to go elsewhere. None of them have Stark's nicely designed landscape. And I can't think of any who offer homes to avatars, another reason why Stark is so popular. As for event locations, basically everything else with regular events and an Adult rating seems to ban nudity (although I'm not sure about Caribou). I'm also afraid that Stark's naturally-grown community will be strewn across the Hypergrid. I sincerely hope that Stark will at least go out with a big party on its last day.

Take a note, everyone:
During the summer, NOVALE (https://opensimworld.com/hop/76561, hg.creanovale.ca:8052:NOVALE) is a surfing sim (https://opensimworld.com/post/75120).
Another two year-round surfing sims are Hidden Dreams (https://opensimworld.com/hop/86670, hg.osgrid.org:80:Hidden Dreams) and Boreal Sea South 6 (hg.osgrid.org:80:Boreal Sea South 6).

Kleine Anmerkung vorweg: Wenn die Sim in-world ein Adult-Rating hat und in OSW in der Adult-Kategorie ist, sollte das Rating in OSW doch wohl auch Adult sein. Und nicht General. Oder?

If I didn't already have a kitchen, I'd absolutely get this. Other kitchens are either solid blocks with no animations that hardly fit anywhere or too delicate to handle or not full-perm and too difficult to find. These seem to be the end of one's search for kitchen cupboards.

Depends. If you have a BoM-enabled mesh body (e.g. Roth2 v2, Adonis 4), go to Klamotto (https://opensimworld.com/hop/78282; not BoM-enabled yet, but c'est la vie) and there to the big yellow building in the southeast where the "old" stuff resides. There you'll find body hair textures with three levels of hairiness. There's also actual hair, but it's unrigged, and it doesn't look good with most movements. If you don't have BoM (e.g. Adonis up to 3, Apollo, Ares, Decadence, Roth 2.0 RC#1), all you can do is find a skin with chest hair.

It's said that a drink of strong whiskey will put hair on your chest. Doesn't work in OS unfortunately. Your suggestion is likely the best option.

AFAIK the number one surfing expert on the Hypergrid is Marianna Monentes. I'm not sure, but I think Bastion has a surfing spot.

:) well I am not sure I am the expert but thank you so much for your vote of confidence. We do have surfing at our Bastion region. Thank you Jupiter for suggesting us continuum.outworldz.net:8002:Bastion

When your grid is back and retooled, I'll see if I can help you find content for it. Chances are good I'll have something myself.

There is legal content, yes. But content makers who actually put their content under a free license and advertise it as free-as-in-freedom are rare. And the rest is either drowning inmidst content of at least questionable origin without being advertised as legal (much less licensed free-as-in-freedom) or hard to find.

First of all, of course, there are the old household names. Linda Kellie should be quite well-known, but her creations can mostly be found either on instances of her own OARs (e.g. Freebie Mall, Clutterfly; both are included in the EQG Mall, https://opensimworld.com/hop/83060) or built into sims instead of directly offered as freebies. As for clothing, there was Taarna Welles with her product lines La Baronnie, ReMake and Reboot. Apart from her own sims Savvy (https://opensimworld.com/hop/75031) and La Baronnie (not on OSW, but on the same grid as Savvy), very few sims offer her creations. Other names which, AFAIK, stand for legal content, but who have disappeared, are Hylee Bekkers and Selea Core whose works are somewhat easier to find but still kind of rare; besides, AFAIK, they've never put them under any license.

The only mesh bodies which are guaranteed to be legal are those with Ruth and Roth in their names or based on such, e.g. Sean Heavy's RuthToo and RothToo, Shin Ingen's Ruth 2.0 RC#3 and Roth 2.0 RC#1, Hyacinth Jewell's LuvMyBod and, most recently, Ai Austin's BoM-enabled Ruth2v4 and Roth2v2. I'm not sure about Sean's bodies, but AFAIK, the others are all under various free licenses. Austin's BoM bodies are so hard to find that even many freebie store owners don't know they exist, and most of those who do flat-out refuse to offer them because not only are these more natural bodies a far cry from the various demigod-like bodies based on copybotted material, but especially Roth2v2 (and to a lesser extent Ruth2v4) has a preview image that is so hideous that it makes people go absolutely ballistic with outright hatred. Also, the official RuthAndRoth sim on OSgrid isn't here on OSW, so if you're interested in these bodies, you'll have to do some detective work or search OSgrid for RuthAndRoth. Austin's bodies are all over the place, especially in older freebie sims, but technically outdated as of last year. LuvMyBod is exclusive to Hyacinth's sims.

Some more legal clothing comes from Otto von Otter whom I know personally. Now, for obvious reasons, I can only talk about gentlemen's clothes. If you're looking for legal material only, you have to be careful. He admits himself that some of what he offers in his own Klamotto store is outright copybotted. But his older clothes which tends to come in a lot of colour variations is legal (e.g. Gavin jackets, Ed shirts, Peak suits, Oscar coats, Broberry jeans, Dandy and Monk shoes). It does come from Second Life, but he worked together with content creators in SL, got shapes and textures from them and turned them into a whole lot more variations than the original creators offered. That was in the early days of mesh clothes in OpenSim when there weren't even absolute basics for men.

Also, these earlier Otto von Otter clothes are the only legal clothes that work reasonably well on Roth2 because there are exactly zero free clothes (and precious little Kitely-exclusive payware) available that were made for any Roth2 version. (Or if there are, they're pretty well-hidden.)

There are a few creators of clothing for Ruth2. You can find their works at Shinobar Annex (https://opensimworld.com/hop/82007), Bella Klara (https://opensimworld.com/hop/81258, and there's even more on that sim that Klarabella Karamell has made that's legal), BerniciaWorld (https://opensimworld.com/hop/82458) and at the Covey Stores which now reside in the new mall sim on Fire and Ice Grid.

Furthermore, start at Outworldz Welcome (https://opensimworld.com/hop/74834) and check out Ferd Frederix' creations. "Prolific" doesn't begin to describe him, not to mention that he's one of the Metaverse's most skilled scripters.

Finally, I'm pretty sure the radios from OSWRS (https://opensimworld.com/hop/82749) are legal.

What makes things more difficult especially for newbies who haven't been around for long enough is the tendency of grid admins to always set their own identities as creators of everything they put on a sim, including the freebies they offer in their freebie malls. This makes it impossible to trace the origins of content by means of creator tag.

Some creators tag their content accordingly so you can see that it was them who created something by hovering your mouse over it. For example, if the name starts with "Hylee's", it's safe to assume it was made by Hylee Bekkers, therefore it's legal. It works similarly with Selea Core. In both cases, I recommend picking up the items at freebie stores instead of in the wilderness, for especially Selea Core had a distinct look for her boxes. As for Linda Kellie, I've seen her creations both renamed and recredited but otherwise vanilla, so you have to know what they look like in order to know that they're legal. And as for Otto von Otter, you have to know the story behind his clothes to know that the Gavin jackets and Peak suits that everyone and their dog puts in freebie stores are legal.

Last but not least: Anyone who reads this and knows more creators of legal content, feel free to post them here in this thread!

It's just a pity that wearable alphas don't work with Adonis 4, they don't hide anything.

They do work with Roth2 v2, though, so this is technically possible with a BoM mesh body.
