The griefer tried to get accounts on literally every single grid on the Hypergrid they could find. If you want to block each grid with Priscilla Kleenex on it, you may just as well take your grid off the Hypergrid entirely.

This has nothing to do with copybotting. It doesn't matter how you get something at AviTron. When you leave the grid, it won't come with you either way.

You can buy something at AviTron, but you can't take it with you to outside AviTron.
You can copy something at AviTron the usual way, but you still can't take it with you to outside AviTron.

You CAN'T take ANYTHING with you out of AviTron. No matter how you take it. Nothing. Ever. Forget it. Once you're outside AviTron, it's gone.

This is what "No export" means: Nothing from AviTron can be taken to other grids.

Easiest solution: Forget AviTron entirely and go look for stuff on other grids.

While I don't carry any money in OpenSim and don't intend to, I must say that your creations are well worth paying for.

It's also worth mentioning that you also offer 3rd-party freebies, namely the Ruth2/Roth2 product lines along with a few matching accessories. You've been amongst the first to help spread them. This goes to show that you're none of those who generally see free content as unfair competition.

Thank you Jupiter. I am a supporter of free content made by Opensim creators and I'm happy to display their wares on my regions if they ask, or in the case of Ruth and Roth, where it's a significant service to the Opensim community, I will go ahead and offer them to anyone. I also have a section in my stores where I offer several of my own items for free, and on random occasions I will mark the majority of a store as free to give back to the community. We all have a duty to give back in some way where we can.

Obviously, the strategy of the copybotting mafia works perfectly.

Not only are they trying to drive commercial creators out of the Hypergrid ("Never buy in OpenSim" is the rally cry of that very campaign), but they're also trying to subdue or even chase away who make free and legal content in OpenSim for OpenSim.

Yes, such people exist. Yes, other people than Linda Kellie. Yes, they even make mesh clothes. They even make entire mesh bodies. With full BoM support. They even make things that you'll hardly ever find amongst all that stuff that's being stolen from SL. But you aren't supposed to know that.

So what's so bad about that? It's that the rampant content theft over the last couple of years has killed off a lot of creativity within OpenSim. Why create something yourself in your spare time if the freebie sim next door is being flooded with the newest hottest professionally-crafted premium luxury stuff from SL that's being offered for free, and that's basically what you wanted to make?

Why would someone start creating mesh clothes for female avatars and offer them in their own store when just around the corner someone opens up a freebie store that slaps L$10,000 worth of stolen brand-new clothes from SL onto its walls every week? (Probably only to make clothes which the content thieves consider not sexy/slutty enough.)

It's like you're at a computer fair with a booth promoting GIMP which you help develop, and the booth right next to you offers thousands of pirated copies of the latest version of Photoshop CS for free, complete with hundreds of advertising posters for the booth all over the fair, some of which even insult GIMP, its creators and everyone who uses it.

Good deed of the day: I went to visit Falene and brought her back what I had gotten from her old sim. Some of them were exclusives. That ought to help her get at least a few of her lost objects back.

Maybe if you know what you got from her at some point in the past, you could do that, too.

You are inspiration enough for me to type "Roland, I just looked on my region and found an object showing Falene as creator and delivered a copy of it to Falenes address... grid.copykat.ovh:12000:Falene Pirate ... :)

Why an Adult rating then if your sim falls perfectly into the General rating?

Rules by rating in Second Life:
General:
* All users allowed
* No nudity and no sex
Moderate:
* No underage users allowed
* Public nudity allowed unless the sim owner explicitly says otherwise on in-world signs, private nudity and private sex allowed
Adult:
* No underage users allowed
* Public nudity and public sex allowed

Rules by rating in OpenSim apparently:
General:
* All users allowed because there's no user age verification
* No nudity and no sex
Moderate:
* All users allowed because there's no user age verification
* No nudity and no sex
* Difference to General? idklol^^
Adult:
* All users allowed because there's no user age verification
* No nudity and no sex unless the sim owner says otherwise somewhere (in-world, OSW, grid website, sim website, in their own mind implying that "everybody knows" OpenSim does have the same rules as Second Life without actually letting anyone know)
* Difference to General and Moderate? No child avatars allowed because the sim owner doesn't want kids running around on their sim

See also what I've written here (caution, long): https://opensimworld.com/post/80103

tl;dr: If you don't want naked avatars on your sim, rate it General. Or Moderate at most, and then put up signs that say that nudity and child avatars aren't allowed.

Clubs... I've got my standard destinations because I've got my regular events, so I'm not exactly looking for clubs.

Shopping is the closest, but it's hard for me to find good and useful stuff, more so if I want it to be legal. (Juno is luckier...) Almost all new freebie sims that have appeared over the last few years have basically the same stuff, especially when it comes to goodies for your avatars.

Free regions? Thanks, but no, thanks. It took me forever to decorate one measly parcel, so what am I supposed to do with an entire region?

And while I don't treat my avatar as a profile pic in a chat app but rather as a kind of character (for better or worse because it's intentionally limiting), I don't do full-on, serious, "level: Fitheach Eun" roleplay.

6. Bad things don't only ever happen to other people. Stop telling yourself that.
7. Making backups may be inconvenient, but it's much easier than getting all your assets once more, recreating your own works from scratch and rebuilding your entire world.

This has NEVER been about the content. In fact, Dorena's World is one of the very few grids where original mesh clothes are being made from scratch without any SL imports. Dorena doesn't care a bit about Sacrarium's content.

It has never been about Putin and/or Ukraine either.

This has been a gesture of peace between grids. Dorena is a pacifist. She would like to see all grids to coexist in peace. She understood WhiteAngel's unblocking of previously blocked Dorenas World as a gesture of piece and trust from Sacrarium's side.

At this point, Dorenas World HAD Sacrarium on its block list. One of only two grids. Only two. These two grids are the only grids which Dorenas World has ever blocked. Sacrarium had been the first, and even this block was fairly recent. For almost twelve years, Dorenas World didn't have a single grid blocked. Dorena actually doesn't like the idea of blocking whole grids. She sees it as a last resort. And while, I guess, not exactly few grids may have blocked Dorenas World in the past, Dorenas World hasn't blocked a single grid until the Sacrarium block just a few months ago.

So why do you think Dorena has unblocked Sacrarium?

Out of opportunism, as you say? Because she or Anachron want to raid the place for content? WRONG! As I already said. Dorena doesn't care for Sacrarium content, and Anachron wouldn't touch mesh with a 10-foot pole. And before someone tries to convince you that I'm behind that move: In case you don't know, I vastly prefer content that was fully made in OpenSim for OpenSim.

No, it was for a reason that many here won't understand. Sacrarium gave her a gesture of peace. And being the pacifist she is, she accepted it and gave a gesture of peace in return. And that was the unblocking of Sacrarium. That was what it was, nothing else.

But as it seems, even in these days of real-life war, the idea of peace amongst the grids on the Hypergrid is completely lost. It's dead. Grids would rather continue their feuds against each other and even go to war against other grids. Sometimes fighting starts and continues for the pettiest reasons. And if you aren't with the war-waging grids in their war, you're against them, and your virtual death is more than justified. This "you" may apply both to entire grids and individual users.

Those few who try their best to stop this madness are laughed at. Ridiculed. Spat at. Insulted. And then crushed under virtual combat boots.

Everyone may have their reasons for blocking grids. I can understand that. But fighting pacifism, especially for the sake of appearing strong and powerful and "badass" and a "winner", is just plain stupid.

Okay, this'll be another long post.

The AlterEgo Grid declared in a post linked in the original post that they've blocked Sacrarium. In the same original post, there's a link to their own website in which they explain their move (in Italian).

Just a bit earlier, Dorenas World (represented here by its admins Dorena Verne [https://opensimworld.com/user/DorenaVerne] and Anachron Young [https://opensimworld.com/user/Anachron]) had unblocked Sacrarium after Sacrarium had unblocked Dorenas World. The reason for this move had exactly nothing to do with Putin and the Ukraine war. It was because Dorena, a staunch and radical pacifist, believes that all grids should at least talk to one another and try to overcome their differences instead of waging feuds and wars against each other.

The Italian post linked in the start post criticises Dorenas World for this move.

Dorena, currently under stress due to how things unfold in the world and therefore easily triggered, came to justify her decision. She HAD to say something, otherwise everyone would believe and claim that she sides with a) Sacrarium and b) Putin. The Hypergrid would turn against Dorenas World.

Later, someone came who wants just that to happen. Copper [https://opensimworld.com/user/Copper]. A notorious troll who doesn't miss out on any given opportunity to verbally attack Dorena, Anachron and myself ad-hominem, even if it's off-topic, and the grid as a whole. Copper loves to post in German so you, Satyr, can't read it. Copper set up his profile in such a way that at least Dorena and Anachron CANNOT answer to his posts.

Before Copper showed up in person, though, he sent his anonymous, faceless, blank-profile, throw-away sock puppet, AnnaMaria [https://opensimworld.com/user/AnnaMaria]. His strategy was to brain-wash Leeder into hating Dorenas World, its admins and its inhabitants. That is, AnnaMaria appeared first. Copper himself didn't appear before I called AnnaMaria a coward for attacking people left and right while hiding behind an anonymous account. He uses both accounts for insulting personal attacks, even if these attacks have got exactly nothing to do with the topic. And both accounts laugh at everyone who tries to be nice and helpful instead of demonstrating arrogance and alleged badassery by only seeking out hapless victims.

Another anonymous, faceless, blank-profile, throw-away account with no relation to any in-world avatar whatsoever, Woody [https://opensimworld.com/user/Woody], joined in on the attacks against Dorena, Anachron and Dorenas World. Woody acts in the exact same way: with the same barrage of off-topic, insulting personal attacks. Woody openly and directly calls Dorena a cry-baby and Anachron stupid. Woody's account only exists to attack others, not only us. Check the profile.

Pagane's [https://opensimworld.com/user/Pagane] part in all this is that of another peace officer. She also doesn't shy away from confrontation. But this gave her a "history", this gave her personal enemies, and it's hard to understand her if you don't know Bulgaria, a country that's literally just a sea across Ukraine, by the way, and a country that was overruled from Moscow for decades. Not to mention that her native tongue is Bulgarian and not English.

There is report button in every profile.

I am not a big fan of moderators, people abuse that position a lot. But the creator of a post can moderate it.

If someone becomes insufferable they might be banned but i prefer a light touch

Klarabella Karamell has also made some Ukraine-themed clothes, mostly based on her own original meshes, and I'm not sure if she is done yet.

Find them on the top floor of the Kaufrausch Mega-Store in Santiago (https://opensimworld.com/hop/78061; you'll teleport into the building itself, just go up the escalators) and on her own sim Bella Klara (https://opensimworld.com/hop/81258).

Because feuds between grids are so much cooler than solidarity. Solidarity is for pansies. Diplomacy is for pansies. The strong make rivals and attack others wherever they can because they can. And because they believe they can "defeat" other people, grids and communities to demonstrate their own "power". Who needs friends if you can have "followers" instead who look up to you because you're so "badass"?

Ooooh, guck mal, wer hier wieder angeschissen kommt.

Ooooh, look who's come crawling out of the woodwork. All show, no go. And so cowardish that you still have to post with an anonymous, faceless throwaway account. And, of course, in German so that Satyr won't notice that you attack people for no reason at all just to polish that puny, ridiculous little ego of yours.

Whom do you want to impress that way? Most people here don't even understand German. Those few who do aren't impressed by someone who plays the arrogant arsehole but who's too much of a coward to reveal their identity.

Yes, it's a pity that sim design often isn't appreciated at all. Many people only come for freebies, parties (= chatting while their avatar is attached to a dance machine or plopped down on the line dance floor), more freebies or maybe virtual sex. Hardly anyone seems to have time for anything beyond that.

I understand that you're angry and disappointed now about what happened to your home grid. But even if that grid won't comeback, many of us wish that you could, and be it on a new home grid.

Maybe even your sims could rise from the ashes there if you still have backups. If you have backups, just don't do anything with them that you may regret later.
