I keep intending on joining in on one of the safaris, but RL Grid tends to interfere with my plans! I adore reading the after-tour reports on your website though. Thanks for helping us discover all kinds of little diamonds in the rough throughout Open Sim!

Hey Cyber! We met many years ago and if memory serves (no guarantee there!) you helped me with some scripts. I really appreciate your generosity and willingness to share your talents with the community! Sorry to hear there's some beef or bad blood out there. Don't let that get you down, please. It's human nature to focus on the negative even when the positive vastly outweighs.

Thank you, Cyberglo, for sharing this with us! And thanks, Fred, for being the conduit for it all!

I will definitely be loading this one up to check it out.

Neat! Will these sessions be recorded and available for those of us who aren't able to attend live, by chance?
The poster sessions cannot be recorded. They don't quite work that way. However, the posters will remain up in perpetuity (I can verify that in this case, all the participants are quite willing to leave them there).

The Community meeting is usually recorded. Most likely Lone's other tech presentations will be recorded. Not sure about the game system session, however, we could always schedule a special one. I will be happy to repeat a live session on the AI if there is interest after the fact. We are committed to having workshops in 2025 for both WolfTEC and VWEC! And tyvvvvvm for your interest!

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I will try to attend in person, but RL Grid has a way of interfering with such plans :)

Learning more about the Dinkies culture and regions is on my "to do" list! I'm curious as much about how the avatars work on a technical basis as I am the whole subculture Dinkies have developed. Really cool!

I haven't seen this newest creation in person yet, but I've always been impressed with your attention to detail. Thank you for sharing your creations with the community, Mari! You're always ready to help and guide newcomers too--speaking from experience. Don't let haters get you down!

Hi Frank! I loved creating the acorn jewelry for you please consider joining our group everyone is welcome! Thank you for always supporting me.

You remembered that custom piece from so many years ago?! Wow, you really have an exceptional memory for detail as well! You took photos of the custom engagement ring I made for my wife (in RL) and drew inspiration to create a piece for OS. I'm surprised you remembered that, from so many hundreds of pieces of jewelry you've created over the years!

That piece is touching to me, I am surrounded by oaks here and this year is a "Mast Year" my trees are just full of acorns that have been dropping for weeks now thousands, I learned that during a Mast season they can harvest 20k acorns!

Sounds like squirrel heaven to me! I planted eight burr oaks around my homestead, but only one is surviving. I've got 125 more trees (not oaks though) on order to plant this coming spring. Every year, we plant, plant, plant (and hope the deer and rabbits leave them alone long enough).

RaeLea and I planted ~250 Russian olive seeds around the prairie just last week. Hoping the cold striation will do its trick and maybe we'll have a wet enough spring they will germinate and start yet another woodland on our little homestead.

Your property sounds just beautiful to be surrounded by so many wonderful olive trees Frank wow, I remember when you were showing pics of you on your tractor just beginning to farm there. I just received my Burpee catalog and so excited what to choose for my spring planting! I tried a lovely plant called Cup and Saucer, it covered my arch trellis this last summer. The fastest growing vine with beautiful trumpet flowers it was just lovely! Please share images when you can I would love to see them.

Maybe include the Discord invitation link as text in your above post? I had to type it in twice, not realizing it was case-sensitive. Anything to reduce friction!

I love this! Standardization makes things easier for everyone and helps evolve Open Sim faster.

Are you encouraging those of us who are not presently "active content creators" to join this discord server, or is it meant more for the creators themselves to join?

Everyone, good place to be updated if you are already a discord user. I like discord because I can check stuff from X servers at the same time. We will post here too tho

Discord's chat and forum features are of course more advanced, so it does lend itself nicely for searchable communication.

Sounds like a solid setup! And I fully agree with your sentiments about Fred! He has helped me so much in the past, and only ever requested a "cat tax" in the form of cat memes as payment :-D

Hey Mari! Yeah, I took a multi-year hiatus from OS, but I've been craving the creative outlet of building out my sims and landscaping, etc. Not to mention, the friendships I cultivated. So I've been contemplating a return! Maybe. I need to make sure I don't let myself get distracted from RL Grid too much!

Nice! So, I've been away from OS for a few years, bear with me as I ask noob questions: is this Perky body type a new mesh creation for OS? Is there a male equivalent?

And then for clothes, would we need to find clothing specific to these body types?
there are all the clothes and even the males you find them in the same region of the body
