My sentiments exactly Jupiter. In their words "Oh god it's sooo hard and boring and my brain hurts and like I need you to only type in short bursts of less than 20 characters before my ADD kicks in, ya know, like totally!". lol

I've read through CherylFurse's posts and almost all of the comments on them. CherylFurse's story feels wrong to me, let alone a mysterious 'daddy' and only four months into Opensim.
Who wants to attend events with 100+ avatars, can the PC at home even cope with that? Who only wants to listen to certain styles of music even though you have a completely different taste in music? All pipe dreams and not effective for the community. Diversity is good, competition stimulates business, otherwise it becomes boring and dull.
And once again I praise myself, namely, as a German, to keep away from the German community and, above all, not to attend 'parties' where the avatar is syncronized with a group of other avatars and usually does not jump around to the music. My favorite station is always on with 'my' music in the background anyway. I don't force my taste in music on anyone and I'll definitely let myself be pushed into styles of music I don't like, btw. these include e.g. Gothic, Black Metal etc.

Ich habe mir die Beiträge von CherylFurse und fast alle Kommentare dazu durchgelesen. Die Geschichte von CherylFurse fühlt sich für mich falsch an, von einem mysteriösen 'Daddy' und einem Dasein von erst vier Monaten in Opensim einmal ganz abgesehen.
Wer will schon Veranstaltungen mit 100+ Avataren besuchen, macht das der heimische PC überhaupt mit? Wer will nur bestimmte Musikrichtungen hören, obwohl man einen ganz anderen Musikgeschmack hat? Alles Hirngespinste und nicht zielführend für die Geeinschaft. Vielfalt ist gut, Konkurrenz belebt das Geschäft, ansonsten wird es langweilig und öde.
Und wieder einmal lobe ich mich, nämlich mich als Deutsche von der deutschen Gemeinschaft fernzuhalten und vor allem keine 'Partys' zu besuchen, auf dem man den Avatar mit einer Gruppe anderer Avatare syncron und meist nicht zur Musik passend herumhüpfen lässt. Bei mir läuft sowieso immer mein Lieblingssender mit 'meiner' Musik im Hintergrund. Ich dränge niemanden meinen Musikgeschmack auf und ich lasse mir mit Sicherheit Musikrichtungen Aufdrängen die ich nicht mag, btw. dazu gehören z.b. Gothic, Black Metall usw.

I don't want to experience what's going on in local chat when there are 100 avatars in a region. And whether dancing is still possible with the home PCs, some of which are really strong, I strongly doubt (there are still particles... the sausages that some Lords of Creation never want to take off and their scripts, other things like collars, cuffs, Region scripts, IP bad packets and much much more). Also it depends on the grid and how the services are managed.. you could write books about it. I think a nice party with 10-25 people is a good thing, maybe 40. Next, with every relog and when avatars arrive, the region is loaded and also the physics and the SIM FPS. So better 10 good friends and a nice evening than 100 people you probably won't remember after 20 minutes.

Not to mention the chatspam gestures with which every other avatar renders the local chat useless as an actual chat. Whatever you post will immediately be drowned in two dozen lines of chatspam.
Ganz zu schweigen von den Chatspam-Gesten, mit denen jeder zweite Avatar den Local Chat als eigentlichen Chat unbrauchbar macht. Was auch immer man postet, wird sofort in zwei Dutzend Zeilen Chatspam ersäuft werden.

Kennst Du den Dayturn Viewer? Ist ein schlankes Stück Software, ich nutze ihn gerne zum Herumstreunen im Hypergrid. Davon gibt es auch eine Version für Apple-Computer. Muss Dich selbst schlau machen, da ich den Viewer ausschließlich unter Windows 11 Pro nutze. Nachteil des Dayturn: Einige engstirnige Gridowner kennen ihn nicht und zack, ist man geblockt weil jemand meint das man mit einem Copybot-Viewer unterwegs ist. Nothing is perfect!

Can't you sulk in silence or pull that virtual sand shovel over your head without bothering the public? Do you always have to share it with the whole world?

Können Sie nicht in aller Stille schmollen oder sich die virtuelle Sandschaufel über den Kopf ziehen ohne die Öffentlichkeit damit zu belästigen? Muss man es immer mit der ganzen Welt teilen?
