What inspired me on this theme was Roberta Scorranese's book entitled 'What the body is for. Journey in art through women's bodies'.
Roberta Scorranese explores the theme of the female body in art and in life. The author compares the works of various artists who have portrayed women in different ways, showing their facets, their stories, their emotions. The author invites us to look at art and our own bodies with free and curious eyes, without letting ourselves be conditioned by stereotypes or conventions. The author celebrates the body as a place of expression, of transformation, of happiness. The book also contains a colour insert with images of the works mentioned.
