ANNOUNCING the newest shop to join the Star Jinn Palisade Mall at Masala Al Kohav is COSPLAY CORNER the proprietor is Artman Xue, a dear friend from several years ago. When he saw what we're trying to accomplish here at the mall, he volunteered to bring a portion of his shop to our grid and offer his amazing costumes, which he creates for classic avatars (and mesh) and offer them here for free to our visitors and role players. We very much appreciate Artman for doing this! I have tried to tell people that our mall is a little different; but tonight I want to show you one of our best selling products - the amazing horses from my friend Roland Francis.

Most of you know about Roland and his horses....but I am going to brag anyways. I used to raise horses in SL. You dont even want to know how much I spent on food.....and then the horses were not naturally grazing. If you found ones that were...you could not ride them. I have tried every horse I found in Second Life and Opensim, and I honestly believe Roland's horses offer the best ride and most realistic animations.

So....you might ask...what does this have to do with a mall? We are honored to be able to offer Rolands horses to you here at Friends Mall and I have built a special path to let you try them. Ride over the mountains...past the pond...and the long oceanside trail....and I am sure you will fall in love with these horses.

Then walk out the back of the store to take a horse for a ride. When you arrive back at the building, you can get your own horse rezzer......it is called HHorse rezzer v2.0 and is inside the stable building at the Mall.

In the past, as I guess many others in OS too, we had to have a 'paging' system for rentals, get involve in each transaction, assign permissions... it was an administrative nightmare.
Now we can manage almost 300 parcel rentals (both free and paid) spread across 8 regions (and planning on another 72!) SEAMLESSLY!

. for local users only(or not)

If you upgrade from 1.xx to 2.00, you'll have to do a "Reset Data" on the Server.

One night, I dreamt I stood at the river's edge in a canyon gorge. Terraced along the cliffs were abundant cherry trees, their branches cascading down towards the water. This place is the embodiment of that dream. We observe Hanami here. @FerdFrederix has added his magic touch throughout this region, thank you Ferd! @JoeBuilder surprised me with a beautiful Kimono. Well, as they say, better late than never. We've done about two months of testing and ironed out a lot of bugs (I say a "lot" because it has been horrendous at times). I think we are now in a positions to go "live" and relax a bit.

We have renamed Opengrid to Castlehenge and downsized from 5x5 to 4x4 in an effort to make both regions the same size. As a result, I had to delete a lot of stuff from the outer edges. All the Athena and Decadence stuff has now gone as there is so much of it all over Opensim it was redundant. That has left us with a lot fewer freebies but we have retained Ruth and Roth, Selea Core, Paramount as well as the Clutterfly Warehouse and other open source stuff. Oh, and Synclair Designs is still there, too - authorised mesh women's clothing imports from SL textured in Opensim.

On the technical side; We are still having a few native problems with inventory - missing body parts and EOC errors but they do not seem to affect day to day running of the sims. I've tested hypergrid from another grid and there seems to be a glitch with bakes on mesh. The avatar looks fine to the user, but others see their body as white (no textures). It does not affect clothing, whether mesh or not. A workaround is for the visitor to toggle "Appearance Mode". Then the appearance is normal. This only needs doing once, I'm assuming so that the sim gets texture updates from your home server. Avatars already on the sim look fine to the visitor. We are running Opensimulator version 0.9.2.10 Yetti Release Unix/Linux/Mono Server.

OK, well that's it for now, I'm going to lie down in a darkened room for a while LOL.

My latest memorial is a very very special one. It is a memorial for my mother, a victim of cancer at the age of 50. She taught me so much of how to be a decent human being and to respect others. It took a woman like her to raise a kid like me and I'm grateful to God that she was my mother. She wasn't perfect by a long shot, but she was the perfect mom for me. So I wanted to have a memorial for her in the Park for Mother's day. If you have a loved one you would like to have memorialized in the Haven of Memories, just let me know, we can discuss the particulars and there is no charge, it's a free service because I care. HOW TO USE THE MAINFRAME.
Download the free program wc3270 for windows. Install it. Set up a connection to cyberdatastorm.com:3270. Your logon ID & PASSWORD will be USER100 & PIZZA OR USER101 & TACOS . You will have access too JCL, COBOL, ASSEMBLY, C++, REXX, and will be able to use the SYSDUMPs. You will be on sysplex1 with full access to 3380, 3390, and 3350 DASD. You will also have access to IBM 3420 TAPE Unit. You can explore what a mainframe operating system is like and how it is different from personal computers. Obviously you will not have access to TOP SECRET or RACF. I often say that anyone can learn PC stuff (personal computers) like Linux, Windows, or Apple OSX by reading just 1 thick 2000 page book. But for the mainframe you need to read about 200-300 of those thick 2000 page books. It is way more complicated. There are 5 mainframe operating systems: IBM Unix called AIX, IBM vm/cms, IBM os/400, Digital Equipment Corp VMS, and the Zos family. This mainframe you are logging into is in the Zos family. It does support full ISPF/TSO and CDC's (cataloged datasets). You will not have access to easytrieve, expediter, endeavour, and CICS.
