" They managed to kickstart it with a whole lot of advertising plus a whole lot of exclusive, brand-new content largely on the same quality of the newest, hottest stuff on SL. And people piled onto that sim to get that content, and more people piled onto that sim because there were so many people on that sim, and because it was constantly in the top 10."
And then once Darkhearts started ranking higher than Lbsa, they were mysteriously "vanished." Can't have those uppity kids rating so high after all. I don't necessarily approve of their exclusive to us" business model, but it definitely worked! Maybea bit too good.
As someone who is new and building a region, I had found the traffic ranking and reviews important. It is/was a guide I could use to tell me if I was creating something of interest and that people are enjoying, or not. Also as a new person, it pointed me to some places where I could meet others in this spread-out world Now, I am not as interested in the rating It seems to be biased to some and not others, hard to trust when you have OSW fingers tipping the scales for some, and others are loading in alts to game the system.I just take it with a grain of salt and pay more attention to region reviews That speak more to me than mere traffic anyway.
