How to get text messages, emails, pushover, telegram, and jabber alerts if a region goes down on your grid. Well it's easy. Download servermonitor from https://github.com/phpservermon/phpservermon/releases. Next unzip it and upload it to your linux box. I put the files in /var/www/html/servermonitor.
Next get on your web browser and go to websiteaddress.com/servermonitor/install.php . Fill in the questions. Set up a web database of your choosing. Create a user and a password. I did this: create database servers; create user 'someone'@'localhost' identified by 'password'; grant all on servers.* to 'someone'@'localhost'; flush priveleges;
Once that is set up, it's a breeze. Use the web interface to add servers to your list. For regions just enter a service and the port number the region is on. example service, custom port, 8007 Then select how you want to be notified if the region goes down. e.g. email or sms text message, etc. Finally using crontab -e enter * * * * * /usr/bin/php /var/www/html/servermonitor/php/servermon.php You are done. Now if one of your regions goes offline you will know about it in 60 seconds. Also you can add websites to the list to be monitored, mail servers, any kind of server really. It has a looooong list of server types that can be added. (very handy). Additionally you can click on a region and see it's uptime plotted hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly as well as LATENCY. We all know how important latency is for showing lag. :) Enjoy!

Here's another texture for signs/flags/whatever you want in your region or grid to let folks know everyone is welcome and safe in your space. I also have the Gay & Lesbian Urban Explorers 1989 triangle in my Pride shop too. A regional note on this offering here. The feathers symbol on it represent Two Spirit folks. For regions hosted outside of North America AKA Turtle Island this identity is more specific to Indigenous LGBTQIA+ folks who's anecestral lands, treaty territories and urban communities are in North Ameirca. Not to say they aren't Two Spirit and Indigiqueer peoples living in all countries in the world as well who chose to do so. The Indigenous peoples of Australia and New Zealand have other terms for gender diverse identities. And it should be noted that not every Indigenous person who is LGBTQIA+ identifies as Two-Spirit. But that is an identity that only Indigenous folks can claim if they so choose. Regardless, I do love this sign and use it all the time. If it resonates with you, feel free to do the same.

I've been working on Iron Horse, one of my favorite projects. However, I've decided to go back as far as possible and gather all the animals I've collected over the years, as well as new ones, and use Iron Horse just for them. Identifying LGBT-Focused Places
• Use "region search" to find places with, for example, "gay" in their name/description.
• Call on our own and friends knowledge of such places.
• Put up a front-page post asking that owners of LGBT-focused places contact us.

Promoting - Plan A
Our main effort would be to help promote LGBT-focused places. We would rotate monthly events among them. Think of the Safari tours, but with a single destination each month. To be selected, these places would need to commit to cross-promoting Alliance events.

Promoting - Plan B
The aim is to create a community of LGBT-focused places that support one another. I've been cautioned that there are factions, politics and competition among them. So Plan B is to do Safari-like tours of LGBT-friendly places as well as any LGBT-focused place that agree to take part.

While there is a Plan and a Plan B, plan B would be easier to implement first. That means finding a good mix of LGBT-friendly and LGBT-focused places for Alliance events

The problem is that there are so many LGBT-friendly places (What a nice problem to have!) How do we go about picking which, and in which order, for monthly events that rotate among them? It makes sense to me to pick group member places first.

In addition, I'd like to have an annual fund-raising event for a group-selected organization that helps the LGBT community.

I had a dream the other morning. It is a vague memory from the Mahabharata. Arjuna is in despair, and does not have the heart to fight against friends and kin, who are under the influence of evil. Krishna explains dharma, or sacred duty. Even though Arjuna desires peace and love above all. If they do not fight, evil will overwhelm the land, and destroy the beautiful world they love.
