16 years I've been making amusement parks in SL & OS and I was excited to finally see someone else entering the amusement park arena in Opensim....but...the rules here are paranoid & ridiculous. Mesh avatars have a very negligible impact on sim performance, certainly not enough of an impact to ban them outright. Having your "park ranger" not even give someone rezzing in a chance to read the rules, let alone comply before not just being ejected, but outright disconnected, is very heavy handed & frankly, a total turn off. I was interested in seeing this & your other regions but I am not going to go change my entire avatar to suit some paranoid rule.

Take it from someone that's been doing this for 16 years & has owned a game development firm for nearly 30 - Calm Down. Seriously. Calm. Down. I get it. You don't want people to cheat & you don't want your stuff to lag BUT the User Experience is ALL. When you create a hostile atmosphere (park ranger) from the instant someone rezzes in, it kills the fun & puts the user on edge. It also drags them OUT of the experience & that is the opposite of what you want. Just my $0.02. Maybe one day I'll get bored enough to change into a 2004 avatar and try this again but well, I think I said that a few years ago when it launched too. It's 2024. Mesh is a thing. Deal with it & code accordingly. There are better ways of checking if someone is running unauthorized scripts....very, very, simple ways to do that. Look into a personal script scanner & go from there ;)

System avatars are not only a requirement, it is PART of the user experience which was envisioned when the park started development several years ago... The description page makes it perfectly clear what the requirements for entry are. Even the employees wear system avatars and they are MISERABLE. The park is appropriately named and the edicts are strictly enforced per the brochure. Cheers.

Being ejected & having my viewer crash is part of the "user experience"? Sounds more like griefing to me. Guess I'll move on. Was hoping to help you improve your parks as someone that's pretty much the resident expert on the subject but if your intent is for people to not visit, well done!

This could have been avoided if you took the time to READ the description on this site and in the HGSafari article. Our edicts are strictly enforced by scripts using OSSL code that is built into Opensimulator, so how is that griefing when I am using commands approved by Opensim developers? I make no apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. The theme park does it's job well and entertains a small niche looking for something different. I DO NOT need your advice on how to make my park better when your fair is not even open to the public. Opensim is FREE but NOT a FREE-For-All. At Dismayland, guests use it my way or they hit the highway.

We're now on the Neverworld Grid! After 3 years, our parks & attractions have found a home! I'm slowly bringing our other regions online, the scripts need some updating but the Amusement Park is done & online! We are running 0.9.2.1 Yeti & our regions are Gloebit enabled. Tips are appreciated! Running professional grade hardware in a secure datacenter, please let us know if you have any issues! Now, lets go ride some rides!
