The Discovery Grid

One of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century was formed in 1964. Actually, it developed from an earlier band known as The Detours. In 1964, the band claimed themselves as part of the pop art and mod movements.
On August 17, 1969, a little known band, known as The Who, played Live At Woodstock. At 5am on Sunday, just before the Jefferson Airplane took the Woodstock stage, the rock outfit 'The Who' played their rock opera titled “Tommy”, the story of a deaf, dumb, and blind boy who is cured of his ailments and gains stardom, becoming a legendary performer.
Come join us on the Discovery Grid as SEISMIC EVENTS pays tribute to Tommy by the Who. So come join us for friendship, fun and entertainment. Hope to see you there.

After the fireworks, starting at 12:30PM , we get down to some serious dancing and music spun by DJ Astoria at the Discovery Grid after-party. This takes place in the Faerie Circle near the Space Needle. Get ready to be faerie led as the faeriedust sends you floating in air. Bring your wings too if you have them. She will warm you up with her celebratory tunes. The Space Needle is open to the public. Take the elevators up to the restaurant, have a quick bite to eat before the fireworks begin. The Discovery Grid birthday party begins at 10:30AM Pacific time at the Mural amphitheater stage in virtual Seattle with Pink Floyd, a tribute band produced by Jeff Edwards. Don't miss all the classic hits by this iconic group! The tribute band will appear in true park fashion, with lights, ambiance, and atmosphere that will transport you back in time to the heyday of the psychedelic era.
